Murdoch Media Murder*

…. from the quill of Antisthenes

*/ The headline almost like from the Fairfax gutter press, isn’t it?

I used to wonder how the anti-democratic media and more importantly its string pullers would try to get rid of that thorn in their well-nourished socialist’s backsides. I thought that it would have to be some sort of a set-up, a long term in planning and preparation, ruthless in the execution. But would they wait for the old fellow’s well deserved retirement into the tender embraces of his ex-communist China wife? (And is she really that ex?) As it happens, the enemies did not wait. The heirs could be moral plasticine dolls, but one might get a surprise. So they acted. I’m not a Murdoch’s friend; and my list of complaints against him would be lengthy. Still, he and the media under his control provide some sort of balance to the otherwise uniformly politically correct journalism. (Perhaps surprisingly, at the moment, the least sheep-like media flourish in the ex-communist European countries.) It is too early to predict the outcome of the Murdoch skirmish in the global ‘class’ struggle. The old fellow seems to be holding well, all those inexcusable things considered. The puppy at his side had not bared his teeth as yet. The Murdoch empire fights back.

Both the commercial competition and the ideological enemies had hoped for the mortal wound or at least for an disabling, unstoppable bleeding. It could happen. In the meantime, the resulting infection is axiomatic; and the Politically Correct Media ceaselessly stick the bacteria infested barbs in. Anything goes, however ludicrous. The funniest allegations are the allegations of bias. Coming from Bob Brown, Stephen Conroy, Oakeshott and similar freedom lovers, one understands why they so desire PC commissariats, bureaucratic licensing, the hate (he-refuses-to-lick-my-backside-so-I-am-insulted) speech restriction and the overall media censorship by the anointed, self-appointed elite. In a free society with a free and independent media they would not last a month. However, with A(lp)Broadcasting Commission on the right, i.e. left side, their seats are almost safe. If we had media like we have today in 1975, Whitlam and Morosi would be still in power.

Bias! For example, could you imagine what would happened if Flannery wrapped his idiotic predictions in a Christian or, God forbid, Catholic rhetoric. He would be ridiculed out of the town. But if it is the Gaia religion, with its socialist, world governance overtones, it is different. The eco-shamans are sacrosanct. The Fairfax and ALP/ABC journalists must march to their keyboards singing – ‘every brown is sacred‘ and, for that matter, green and especially the red.

And those shameless sluts have the temerity to complain about the Murdoch’s bias.

About Antisthenes

A Greek philosopher, a pupil of Socrates. Led a revolt, with Diogenes, against the demands of the city-state and the sophistication of life. Accepted the interrelation of knowledge, virtue, and happiness; and sought the ideal condition for happiness in return to primitivism and self-sufficiency. Rejected all social distinctions as based on convention, scorned orthodox religion as a fabrication of lies, and studied early legends and animal life in order to arrive at a true understanding of natural law. The individual was free and self-sufficient when he was master of his passions, secure in his intelligence, impervious to social or religious demands, and satisfied with the poverty of a mendicant. Needless to say, a person who on the Fog of Chaos adopted the Athenian philosopher's name has nothing whatsoever in common with him.

One Response to Murdoch Media Murder*

  1. GOL says:

Actually, this could apply to most of the people currently serving in government. It reminds me of one of the verses of the seventeenth-century anti-Jacobite song “Lilliburlero”:

Dere was an old prophesy found in a bog
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la
Ireland shall be ruled by an ass and a dog
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la.
    Lero, lero, lilliburlero
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la
    Oh, lero, lero, lilliburlero
    Lilliburlero, bool-en-a-la!
Now de old prophesy is come to pass
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la
Talbot’s de dog and James is de ass
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la.
    Lero, lero, lilliburlero
    Lilliburlero bool-en-a-la
    Oh, lero, lero, lilliburlero
    Lilliburlero, bool-en-a-la!
