NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN (ALMOST)

14th September, 1904 : Farmers need new markets for surplus produce and have appealed to the Victorian Government for assistance. A deputation of farmers saw the Premier, Mr Bent, today to request £1,000 from the Government to help test markets in the United Kingdom, India and South Africa. Mr Bent was sympathetic and said he had provided £500 in the Surplus Revenue Act for the purpose.
