24th April, 1926 : The inter-community riots between Hindus and Moslems in Calcutta have broken out again. The original riots were caused by the Hindus playing their religious music outside a mosque. This time the fighting flared because of a rumour that Hindus had beaten two Moslems to death. The word ran through the alleys like wildfire and so Moslems, arming themselves with knifes and clubs, took to the streets. Tramcars and buses were stoned and stopped, passengers were dragged out and beaten.

[Music, books, alcohol, women … is there something normal Muslims do like?]
