29th September, 1917 : Russia’s former Czar, Nicholas II, and his family have been moved to Tobolsk, a small town in Western Siberia, to protect them from the Bolsheviks. The family’s move was personally directed by Alexander Kerensky, Prime Minister in the Provisional Government. He is said to have told the former Czar: “The Bolsheviks are after me and then they will be after you.”

[They got the Czar and his whole family, but Kerensky managed to escape and lived in exile. He married an Australian journalist and lived for a short while in Brisbane. Kerensky died in New York in 1970]
