…from the quill of Antisthenes the Younger
“I love money. I love money more than the things I can buy. There is only one thing I love more than money. You know what that is? Other people’s money.”
So says Danny DeVita’s character Garfield in the 1991 movie. The screenwriter Alvin Sargent was, presumably, poking fun at greedy capitalists and could hardly imagine that desire for and dispersal of other people’s money in aid of various green pies in the sky which will became the credo of that “compassionate” and sadly semi-educated generation.
