NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN (ALMOST)

19th June, 1970 : The Torries are back in power in Britain tonight with Edward Heath the new Prime Minister. The general election result was totally unexpected. Nearly all opinion pollsters had signalled an easy win for Harold Wilson’s Labour party. Here is egg on their faces now. At Labour headquarters a painful inquest began. Has Wilson lost office through complacency? Party strengths in the new House of Commons are: Torries 330, Labour 287, Liberals 6 and others 7.

[The pollsters wiped the eggs off and kept on propheting. They are still at it, wrong as ever]
