mother.theresa1st May, 1975 : A diminutive nun wearing shabby grey cardigan has arrived in Melbourne to continue her life’s work of looking after the poor. The almost-mythical Mother Theresa, saviour of the lonely and destitute in ever-increasing parts of globe, is here for the official opening of the Corpus Christi Centre in Greenvale, run by her Sisters of Charity. Melbourne’s Archbishop Little will open the mission, watched by the woman whose words are beginning to be heard around the world. “God will provide,” she replied to a question about the cost of her mission. “The future will be good with God’s help.”
