NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN (ALMOST)

26th June, 1909 : Tram driver Williams Keys was stopped in his tracks by a gold nugget today. Something glittering caught his eye as he was driving an electric tramcar along Drummond Street in Ballarat, Victoria. He stopped and found a sizable nugget that is thought to have fallen from a load of gravel taken out of one of the Ballarat mines.
