No need to panic

…from the quill of Antisthenes the Younger

The merchants of doom are not giving up. Wisely deciding that the population could not care less about facts, they ignore them, adjust them or simply falsify them.

Some facts you can easily check, and I sincerely hope you do, and thus I deliberately do not provide a link:

Australia’s proved reserves of natural gas are 1,219,000,000,000 m3, which makes us number 24 in the world. United States of America, number 5, has 9,459,000,000,000 m3. Meaningless figures to most of us, so I made them slightly more palatable – in Australia, it is 53,000 cubic meters per head; and in America only 29,900. To make it even more easy – in 2010 we burned 1,452 m3 of natural gas per head of population. The figures are imprecise, so I am not going to divide the reserves by the consumption; many things can change, but I hope you got my point.

That we live (or rather are expected to live according to the science of statistics) on the average three years longer than Americans is not here or there. No need to gloat.

The consumption could go up.

snow.dogFirstly, each of the major icehouses of the geological past lasted 75 million years or more. .. In comparison with the duration of the older icehouses, we are still in the early part of this icehouse…

Secondly, the total time spent in icehouses adds up to about 600 million years. This is about 11% of Earth’s history. Icehouses are the exception rather than rule. The normal state for Earth is much warmer, with one or even no polar ice-caps.” / David Johnson – The Geology of Australia, 2nd edition, p.309

Morpeth Herald: – “A campaign has been launched this week to call for more to be done to reduce fuel poverty and the high number of excess winter deaths in Northumberland due to living in cold conditions.

There would not be any need to panic if not for the misanthropist Greens and the idiotic politicians.

About Antisthenes

A Greek philosopher, a pupil of Socrates. Led a revolt, with Diogenes, against the demands of the city-state and the sophistication of life. Accepted the interrelation of knowledge, virtue, and happiness; and sought the ideal condition for happiness in return to primitivism and self-sufficiency. Rejected all social distinctions as based on convention, scorned orthodox religion as a fabrication of lies, and studied early legends and animal life in order to arrive at a true understanding of natural law. The individual was free and self-sufficient when he was master of his passions, secure in his intelligence, impervious to social or religious demands, and satisfied with the poverty of a mendicant. Needless to say, a person who on the Fog of Chaos adopted the Athenian philosopher's name has nothing whatsoever in common with him.

  1. Trevor Nische says:

None are so blind as those who would not see – the Left knows what it is doing, but the naive children do not wish to see and think. No facts will change their opinions.

  2. Bob Kartelian says:

Those proven reserves look nice, but how many cubic metres will the Greenies and Aborigines release to the capitalists? 1/500 ? Let’s panic.
