No worries

…from the quill of Antisthenes the Younger

Since the time he got elected in November 2008 Obama has been ‘grooming’ (to use the currently fashionable term) his American subjects for more permanent dictatorship. What the packs of Muslims, with relative impunity, do to prepubescent girls and boys, the adult Americans, 47% of them, like to have done to themselves.

The presidential elections are not due until November 2016 but the US media frenzy would, to a person from another planet, indicate that they are imminent. The whipped up hysteria is to reassure the voters that the elections matter, and, in fact, some Americans still naively believe that it can make a difference. To some limited, cosmetic extent, it does, but the choice is basically between two types of “it-makes-me-feel-so-good” rhetoric.

The kabuki clash of the Clinton and Bush clans may make a good theatre for the feeble-minded, fantastic profits for the providers of advertising space and “sell newspapers”, but makes little discernible difference to American citizens.

As far as I am aware, most commentators missed one possibility, in my humble opinion not entirely fanciful.

Article Two of the United States Constitution stipulates that for a person to serve as President, the individual must be a natural-born citizen of the United States, … The Twenty-second Amendment to the Constitution also sets a term limit: a President cannot serve more than two terms. “

The 22nd Amendment was approved only in March 1947 by the Republican-controlled 80th Congress, and only in February 1951 enough States ratified it. Prior to that it was only a convention.

obama.con.sueHussain Obama almost certainly breached the first requirement, and there is nothing and nobody to prevent him from breaching the remaining one. The Constitution never had stopped him from doing what he wanted; invariably to the detriment of freedom, democracy and the pursuit of happiness. His anti-constitutional, executive ‘ukase‘ outrages provoke only mild verbal slaps from the Republican legislators and never lead to any action. True, Obama lost a few court cases, but he either ignores or appeals to infinity the court decisions. The Republicans, for reasons of their own, I suspect venal, can’t bring themselves to stop him by something so obvious as an impeachment. When the audacity of the Anti-American-in-Chief meets the apathy of the Americans the result is a continuous disaster.

Obama can simply ignore the 22nd Amendment. So no more worries, Honest Hillary, and other hopefulls, you are likely to became even more irrelevant.

About Antisthenes

A Greek philosopher, a pupil of Socrates. Led a revolt, with Diogenes, against the demands of the city-state and the sophistication of life. Accepted the interrelation of knowledge, virtue, and happiness; and sought the ideal condition for happiness in return to primitivism and self-sufficiency. Rejected all social distinctions as based on convention, scorned orthodox religion as a fabrication of lies, and studied early legends and animal life in order to arrive at a true understanding of natural law. The individual was free and self-sufficient when he was master of his passions, secure in his intelligence, impervious to social or religious demands, and satisfied with the poverty of a mendicant. Needless to say, a person who on the Fog of Chaos adopted the Athenian philosopher's name has nothing whatsoever in common with him.

May be the America will wake up and raise against its internal enemies. It’s high time.
