The Sandman on the roll

…from the quill of Antisthenes the Younger

That was a slip of a keyboard, I meant comrade Sandowski a.k.a. Sanders. Who would have believed that the American voters would be stupid enough to consider a geriatric hard-core socialist for a President? Hmm, who would not. After all, the supposedly freedom-loving Americans elected Hussein Obama who rules over them by executive orders – twice. Could that have something to do with the vaunted American exceptionalism? We Americans are so exceptional that we can make socialism work even though it has failed everywhere every-time?

Bernie Sanders claims to be a “democratic” socialist. I suspect that deep down he is old fashioned communist a la Klement Gottwald. His talk of democratic socialism, successful Denmark, Sweden etc. is a ploy designed for the products of the decades of dumbing down US children according to Gramski’s and Chomski’s formulas.

Should he get to the White House, Americans can, for a while, expect a sort of benign Venezuelan socialism, nicely described here:

…Despite having the world’s second largest oil reserves, Venezuela — a socialist economy — is in complete and utter free fall. A Wall Street Journal article from a couple of days ago — “Venezuela’s Collapse Brings ‘Savage Suffering’” — says it all.

Here in the capital [Caracas], the crisis has turned ordinary life into an ordeal for nearly everyone. Chronic power outages have prompted the government to begin rationing electricity, darkening shopping malls. Homes and apartments regularly suffer water shortages.

Rosalba Castellano, 74 years old, spent hours this week in what has become a desperate routine for millions: waiting in long lines to buy whatever food is available. She walked away with just two liters of cooking oil.

I hoped to buy toilet paper, rice, pasta,” she said. “But you can’t find them.” Her only choice will be to hunt for the goods at marked-up prices on the black market. The government, she said, “is putting us through savage suffering.”

People are fleeing Venezuela at the rate of one million a year. According to Forbes, the South American country’s inflation rate is a staggering 808%! But don’t blame the USA for this. Unlike with Cuba, we are still the number one importer of Venezuelan oil and the number one exporter of goods to that benighted country. We essentially support Venezuela, even though it has been led sequentially by rancid America-hating despots like Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro…

That, I fear would be only the beginning.

Semi-educated mob is dreaming – Mr Sandman, bring me a dream; I don’t have the mind to call my own, I want a dream, painless, free and free of responsibility.

About Antisthenes

A Greek philosopher, a pupil of Socrates. Led a revolt, with Diogenes, against the demands of the city-state and the sophistication of life. Accepted the interrelation of knowledge, virtue, and happiness; and sought the ideal condition for happiness in return to primitivism and self-sufficiency. Rejected all social distinctions as based on convention, scorned orthodox religion as a fabrication of lies, and studied early legends and animal life in order to arrive at a true understanding of natural law. The individual was free and self-sufficient when he was master of his passions, secure in his intelligence, impervious to social or religious demands, and satisfied with the poverty of a mendicant. Needless to say, a person who on the Fog of Chaos adopted the Athenian philosopher's name has nothing whatsoever in common with him.

    America deserves Sanders.

A shortage of toilet paper always is the sign of applied socialism.

President Sanders will achieve what USSR could not.

  4. Fragil Mind says:

The American voters’ intelligence has been greatly over-rated by the media, that is of those simple souls who bother to vote. Approx 50% of elligibles stays home, watch TV and do not vote – is it wisdom or apathy?

  5. Aaron Blomfeld says:

It is like the Jews in the camps cheering National Socialism.

  6. Grim Reaper says:

What a choice those benighted US citizens have! But, as somebody mentioned here earlier, they will get what they deserve – Venezuela/North Korea’s paradise. Serves them right; even voting for Trump will not help. It is too late.
