No pain no gain – but unfortunately unnecessary pain when the obvious dangers are ignored. Politicians suffer no pain – you do.

1st May, 1940 : The Germans announce the surrender of 4,000 Norwegians in the Lillehamer sector.

President Roosevelt sends a personal message to Benito Mussolini strongly urging him not to enter the war.

The French military attaché in Berne sends a report to Paris: the Germans will open a major offensive between 8 and 10 May with the main thrust towards Sedan.
