Elephants gone

Anybody with deeper than pecuniary or culinary interest in animals may be peeved by the increasingly more and more “correct” medial “reporting” (perhaps better described as eco-fabrications), of animals; domesticated, feral, tame, wild or semi-wild. Simple consumers of “news” could be forgiven for believing that all, but in particular the cute or just photogenic creatures are almost extinct due to the climate change which, naturally, is due to a white heterosexual male’s fault and has never happened before. Hunting, by white people, is the icing on the misandric cake.

Elephants and other wild animals are pressured by the uncontrolled population rise, something which used to be controlled by tribal wars, famines and diseases. White newcomers to Africa attempted to banish internecine wars, to introduce elements of hygiene and teach the natives relatively sensible agriculture. Then the time tore the curtain, population got “independent” i.e. depended only on aid from white taxpayers. With the assistance of Marxist ideology the potentially rich continent has become a proverbial basket case and its people, unwilling to wait for welfare at home go to Europe to get it. Elephants have no such option; Soros would be unlikely to finance a smugglers’ fleet for them, though undoubtedly enough simpletons would be willing to wave ‘Elephants welcome’ placards.

Under siege from poaching and development, African elephant numbers have plummeted by 30 percent in recent decades, according to the 2016 Great Elephant Census, the biggest continent-wide elephant survey ever undertaken.

Once ranging from the coastal plains of Cape Town to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, the species has fallen from 1.3 million in the 1970s to about 352,000 today, according to the survey, which was led by Elephants Without Borders.”

Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, most people playing conservationists want to ‘feel good” regardless of logic. There are countless occasions but the most revealing one was recently, when a hunting guide was killed by elephant – the scum rejoiced. The politically correct are making excuses for “starving” blacks, who are still starving after more than a half of century after shaking off the white/imperialist/racist/capitalist’s shackles. Poachers do not kill elephants for meat, but for ivory to be converted to i-pods and other necessities of life.

Do-gooders hardly ever mention the Chinese organisers, importers and ultimate buyers of ivory because China is a communist country. And so the cycle of greed goes on:

About Paul Jacko

Jacko was born in Czechoslovakia not long before the communist putsch in February 1948. He studied industrial chemistry there and left in 1969 for Australia, where he became a lawyer and established his own practice. He has now retired and beside hunting, fishing, camping, prospecting and playing golf he amuses himself by writing.

  1. Fragil Mind says:

You are unfair to Soros. When all Africans are gone from Africa, African fauna will revive. It is very deep plan.

  2. Mary Clomaine says:

When the Chinese take over Africa, all fauna would turn vegetarian, like pandas did. Who needs native people there?

  3. Klimateer says:

    It is called the progress.
