No pain no gain – but unfortunately unnecessary pain when the obvious dangers are ignored. Politicians suffer no pain – you do.

14th September, 1940 : X-day for Operation Sealion is postponed to 17 September, which means putting off the landing itself to 27 September, since the Kriegsmarine needs ten days to prepare and coordinate their action. 27 September is the last day in September on which the tides will be suitable for a landing.
