15th October, 1940 : Mussolini calls a meeting at Palazzo Venezia to discuss the occupation of Greece (as a counter to German penetration in Rumania). Talk is of a two-weeks campaign to start on 26 October (the date is later put back two days), and Foreign Minister Ciano is deputed to find a casus belli. The Foreign Minister says he can rely on the support of several Greek personalities who will be easy to corrupt.

Goering issues a directive specifying the principal objectives of the aerial Blitzkrieg against Britain. In order, they are: London, aircraft factories, the industrial zones of Birmingham and Coventry, and the air bases of British fighter squadrons.

British Admiralty reports three Italian destroyers sunk in Mediterranean operations.
