No pain no gain – but unfortunately unnecessary pain when the obvious dangers are ignored. Politicians suffer no pain – you do.

13th December, 1940 : Hitler issues his directive ‘Marita’ providing for the despatch of 24 divisions to Balkans. German troops begin moving through Hungary to Rumania.

Pierre Laval, Vice-President of the Vichy government and champion of a more powerful collaboration with the Germans, is arrested on Petain’s orders two days before Napoleon’s son’s ashes are returned to France by the Germans.
