12thJune, 1941 : The port of Assab in southern Eritrea is occupied by an Anglo-Indian naval force ; it has already been evacuated by the Italian troops. In the area of Gondar, west of Amba Alagi, the British continue their attack, and heavy British artillery bombardment is directed on the troops defending Debra Tabor.
